overview

A body lift is a surgical procedure in which excess skin is trimmed away and ‘lifted’ to reshape body parts back to a normal, healthy contour. Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Jaime Schwartz MD, often refers patients to this treatment who have lost a significant amount of weight but are left with loose, saggy skin. This procedure is also referred to as a lower body lift or sometimes a circumferential abdominoplasty. A signature body lift has a similar tightening effect as a tummy tuck, but in addition to the abdominal area, the body lift also includes lifting and improving the shape of the buttocks and hips.

Weight loss is an important personal achievement, unfortunately your skin doesn't necessarily retract so easily after losing weight, which may leave you feeling self conscious about your body and unable to enjoy wearing certain types of clothes. Clients that find they have loose draping skin and excess fat on their abdomen, hips, and buttocks after significant weight loss or after pregnancy would benefit from a signature body lift.

Dr. Jaime Schwartz's signature body lift is completely customizable and can be tailored to fit your body's individual needs and your overall aesthetic goals.

After Your Body Lift

After your body lift, you will be advised to take one to two weeks off from work and normal activities. You will be given a compression garment to wear to help with healing. After a month, you will be able to resume all activity, including strenuous physical activities and contact sports. Most patients are able to see the final results of their body lift after three months.

How much will it cost?

The cost for your body lift will depend on your personal needs, your goals, and safety considerations. Dr. Jaime Schwartz will discuss your payment options during your consultation, including excellent financing options.

Body Lift FAQs

Combined Upper and Lower?

For clients who wish to address both upper and lower body, Dr. Schwartz will often combined a signature body lift with a brachioplasty (arm lift) to address sagging skin on the upper arms, and/or a thigh lift, to tighten up the draping skin on the thighs.

Liposuction can also help to remove excess fat deposits and for clients with poor elasticity, a combination of both liposuction and a signature body lift technique can be an optimal solution to sculpt and contour your waistline, hips, and buttocks.

What About Scars?

Scars are an unavoidable part of surgery, but they shouldn't detract from your results. The incisions from a signature body lift are placed in strategic locations where they can be easily hidden by clothing, such as the band of your underwear, underneath the bra line, or beneath a swimsuit.

Can I Use Insurance?

Typically, a body lift isn't covered under insurance, but in some instances part of the procedure may be covered, in cases where there are frequent infections and skin irritations from the excess skin. Each insurance company is different, and Dr. Schwartz will review insurance options with you during your consultation.

Good Results?

Most clients are extremely satisfied with the results of their signature body lift. A signature body lift can give you tighter abdominal muscles, a flatter tummy and torso, and a more contoured waist, buttocks, and hips. After a signature body lift, clients find they are more confident and comfortable in their clothes without the excess skin and fat bulges.
