While a full tummy tuck may be appropriate for those looking for comprehensive lower body sculpting, a mini tummy tuck offers the same excellent results, only with less downtime and a smaller scar. Jaime Schwartz MD, one of Beverly Hills' top plastic surgeons, offers this procedure to his patients who do not wish or may not need to go through a full tummy tuck. One of Dr. Schwartz most popular procedures, a mini tummy tuck can help you reach your desired goals of a flatter, tighter stomach.

Signature mini tummy tuck

A signature mini tummy tuck with Dr. Jaime Schwartz has the same tightening effects as a full tummy tuck, but this procedure focuses on one part of the abdomen and requires only one incision, very similar to the one used for a C-section. Clients that would benefit from a mini tummy tuck are looking for a tighter, flatter belly with less scarring than a full tummy tuck.

A signature mini tummy tuck may involve endoscopic-assisted surgery, which is less invasive and reduces the amount of time the procedure takes. All of Dr.Schwartz's signature tummy tucks feature Rapid Recovery™, which utilizes a gentler form of general anesthesia and drastically shortens your recovery time.

After Surgery

Following your signature mini tummy tuck procedure, your incision site will be stitched and bandaged, and Dr. Schwartz may have you wear either an elastic bandage or a compression garment to minimize swelling and to support your abdomen as it heals.

Dr. Schwartz will also instruct you on how to best position yourself while either sitting or lying down to help ease any potential pain. Your recovery will take several weeks.

mini Tummy Tuck FAQs

am I a good candidate?

For the best results, a signature mini tummy tuck is the ideal body contouring option for those patients with some excess skin, and minimal weakness of the abdominal wall. If you are in good overall health, have tried other methods of slimming and toning and failed, and are looking for abdominal contouring with less scarring than a full abdominoplasty, you may be a good candidate for a signature mini tummy tuck.

Prior C-Section?

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your C-section scar, a tummy tuck could remove that scar entirely. The new scar would be a fine white line, strategically placed below the line of your underwear or bikini, with no scarring around the belly button.

What if I get Pregnant?

Dr. Jaime Schwartz recommends waiting until you are done having children before having any abdominal contouring, including a mini tummy tuck. The scar from your tummy tuck could widen or change pigment, and the abdominal muscles will stretch with your pregnancy. In short, it may appear as if you'd never had the mini tummy tuck done at all. If a pregnancy is unavoidable after having your mini tummy tuck, a revision may be needed to restore the results of the original procedure.
