Overview

For clients that want fast results with little to no downtime, the Venus Legacy is a nonsurgical skin tightening treatment that can sculpt your body without undergoing surgery. Beverly Hills, CA board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Jaime Schwartz offers the revolutionary Venus Legacy device for patients that desire to decrease skin laxity and cellulite in areas that do not respond well to diet and exercise alone, such as the abdomen, thighs, neck, and face. The Venus Legacy delivers multi-polar radiofrequency (RF) and pulsed electromagnetic fields to produce heat under the skin’s surface to help reverse the apparent, mild aging of the skin. The RF waves that heat the skin boost collagen production, which revitalizes the areas of concerns on a dermal level. So as time passes, new results become more evident in the weeks and months ahead. The great news is that the RF energy is so targeted that it will not harm the surrounding skin. To learn more about this treatment and Venus Legacy, we invite you to call Dr. Schwartz and make an appointment at our plastic surgery center.

Procedure Technique

Venus Legacy is performed during a short, single treatment session (about 15 – 30 minutes). If you have multiple areas (such as the neck, breasts, arms, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and knees), it will take longer. We will take you to a private room for you to prepare yourself. The Venus Legacy will pass over your skin to deliver the heat. You may also use suction with the VariPulse™ technology with the Venus Legacy as it will draw the skin just a little bit closer for better results. The level of heat emitted will be monitored for your safety. We want this to be a relaxing environment for you. Once the device has covered the designated body part, you can get dressed and go about your day as you normally would. Keep in mind that results are not instantaneous. The deep layers of your skin will have to heal – and when they do, you will see how much slimmer you look with more shape and less cellulite (on the body). If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to ask.

After Treatment

Patients may resume normal activities right away and exercise after 24 hours. Some of the Venus Legacy results will be visible immediately, but they will still improve over time. A single treatment can produce a three-dimensional improvement in the appearance of skin looseness and the effects have been shown to last several years.

Treatable Areas?

  • Abdomen: Venus Legacy is a great procedure for women who have had children and stretch marks, retained fat, or any post-pregnancy skin changes around the abdomen.
  • Face and neck: The minimally invasive procedure can tighten loose or sagging skin in the lower face or neck area. The Venus Legacy treatment can be combined with liposuction if excess fat is also a problem. It is the right choice for patients who want to see improvements with minimal downtime.

What is the RF system?

It is a temperature-controlled RF device used to smooth, tighten, and sculpt the skin. RF is a type of electrical energy that can be directed right where you want it to stimulate collagen production in the targeted area(s). This device addresses wrinkling, body contouring, skin tightening, and cellulite reduction with both noninvasive and minimally invasive applications.

Lasting Results?

Most patients will see their Venus Legacy results last for 2 – 4 years if they maintain a healthy, stable weight. Significant weight fluctuations will alter the results. If you think your results are fading, then you should schedule a follow-up appointment with Dr. Schwartz to discuss another treatment or surgical options, if necessary.
