Ideal Candidates
Ideal candidates for a brow lift may have deep wrinkles between their eyebrows or sagging eyebrows, giving them a tired or angry look. As we age, our skin elasticity reduces, causing many areas of our face to sag. This is particularly evident in the appearance of our upper face, and impacts both men and women. Brow lift surgery with Dr. Jaime S. Schwartz can be the ideal aesthetic procedure for your needs, giving your face a more youthful and awake look.

Surgical Technique
A brow lift may be done under IV sedation in a surgical center. The incision in a browplasty is chosen with consideration to the degree of skin sag, whether the forehead is being addressed, and the appearance of the patient's hairline. Some of the different techniques that Dr. Schwartz may use:
- Traditional Incision
Also called the open lift incision, this puts the surgical incision behind the hairline at the top of the head. The traditional incision not only masks scars, it allows a certain amount of lift control throughout the surgery. The traditional incision is good for those with both frown lines and a sagging brow. The traditional brow lift is the recommended technique for patients who are also concerned about a receding hairline. - Trichophytic Incision
The trichophytic incision is made directly against the patient's hairline. This type of brow lift permits a more dramatic lift in the brow for women and men who do not have hairline recession. - Lateral Brow Lift
Also called a temporal browplasty, the lateral method sets the incision inside the hairline slightly over the temples. The lateral incision permits the outer areas of the brow to be raised and helps sagging that is visible in the outer brow. The lateral technique also helps to correct Crow’s feet. - Endoscopic Forehead Lift
The endoscopic lift is one of the more modern methods employed in a brow lift. This technique requires multiple small incisions beyond the hairline and the insertion of an endoscope, which moves to the the eyebrow to release its attached tools. Using the endoscope's camera, the brow tissue is repositioned with stitches to put the brow in a better position.
What to Expect
The recovery period after a brow lift can vary, depending on the technique used during your procedure. Cold compresses can help to decrease any inflammation and Dr. Schwartz recommends patients sleep with several pillows propped under their head for 3 – 4 nights after their brow lift. It is critical to eliminate any activities or movement that can put pressure on your face. The typical recovery period from a brow lift is around 2 – 3 weeks. The results can often be seen right away, with a refreshed appearance that seems more alert, softer, and has a visible improvement in sagging skin and fine lines in the upper half of the face.
